Creciente invests with smaller, earlier-stage hedge fund managers, a subset of the industry that academic research and the Portfolio Manager’s experience suggest outperforms over time.  The firm is focused on managers whose performance is driven by idiosyncratic, fundamental research-driven security selection rather than broader capital market and economic conditions.

Geoff Keegan has 15 years of hedge fund investment experience and founded Creciente in 2014 after most recently leading the hedge fund program at DUMAC, LLC, the investment organization responsible for Duke University’s $14 billion in financial assets.  Chief Financial Officer John Pellegrino brings more than 16 years of experience in a variety of high-level financial industry roles.

Creciente employs an endowment-style mindset to managing a portfolio of hedge funds, including a long-term, volatility-tolerant approach that it expects to result in superior performance over time.  The firm has developed an extensive investment sourcing network, performs rigorous due diligence, and is highly-selective, committing capital to less than 1% of the more than 1,000 managers in its global network.
