Managing Partner & Portfolio Manager


Geoff founded Creciente Partners Investment Management, LLC in July 2014 and has 15 years of experience investing in hedge funds.  He previously had primary responsibility for the $3+ billion hedge fund portfolio of DUMAC, Inc. – Duke University’s investment management company – from September 2007 through April 2014.  Geoff was also actively involved in tactical and strategic portfolio management decisions across the broader $14 billion DUMAC portfolio.


From August 2004 to August 2007, Geoff worked in the Arbitrage Group for Grosvenor Capital Management, L.P., a $20+ billion fund-of-funds organization based in Chicago.  Geoff sourced, researched, and executed hedge fund investments, with an emphasis on event-driven equity, credit, relative value, and multi-strategy funds.


From September 1999 to August 2002, Geoff was a research analyst for DUMAC.  He performed analysis on investment opportunities across asset classes, including hedge funds and private equity funds.


Geoff earned a B.S. in economics cum laude from Duke University in 1999 and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where he was a Fuqua Scholar, in 2004.  He is a CFA charterholder.



Giovanni Pellegrino, CPA, CFA, CIPM

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer


Giovanni (John) Pellegrino joined Creciente in January 2016.  John has more than 16 years of finance, accounting, and operational experience.  He oversees the firm’s operations, compliance, finance, and accounting activities.


Prior to joining Creciente, John was Controller of the Canadian professional division of Conair Corporation, a large privately-held U.S. company, overseeing financial and operational management as well as being responsible for post-acquisition integration for the division.  From 2009 to 2012 he was Director, Public Market Investments at PSP Investments, one of Canada’s largest public pension plans.  At PSP, he oversaw the reporting team and was a key member in the monitoring, analytics, and risk management for the Public Markets portfolio.  John was significantly involved in the implementation of passive equity investments, structure of new investment strategies, currency hedging, benchmarks, and asset allocation.


Prior to PSP, John served as Chief Financial Officer of wealth management firm PWL Capital from 2004 to 2009.  He spent 2001 to 2004 with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (Canada’s equivalent of FINRA, the U.S. investment industry’s self-regulatory organization).  He began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in 1998.


John earned his Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy in 1997 and his Graduate Diploma in Accountancy in 1999 from the John Molson School of Business – Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.  He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accounts of Canada, a CFA charterholder, and earned the CFA Institute’s Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement designation.





Neal F. Triplett

President and Chief Executive Officer, DUMAC


Neal is President and Chief Executive Officer of DUMAC Inc., Duke University’s investment management organization. He joined DUMAC in 1999 to focus on public securities and hedge fund investments.  Neal ultimately oversaw DUMAC's hedge fund portfolio and was appointed President in January 2007.  During his tenure, DUMAC has placed in top-performing decile of U.S. university endowments.  Prior to completing business school, Neal was a credit officer for the corporate and real estate portfolios at Wachovia Bank.  Neal holds M.B.A. and A.B. degrees from Duke University, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.  Neal serves on the boards and investment advisory committees of several organizations, including the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, Brown Advisory Mutual Funds, and MCNC.



Cynthia E. Frost

Former Chief Investment Officer, Brown University


Cynthia served as the Chief Investment Officer and Vice President of the Brown University Endowment from 2000 to 2012.  From 1995 to 2000, she served as a Vice President and Portfolio Strategist at DUMAC Inc. (previously Duke Management Company).  She served as a Managing Director at Cambridge Associates from 1989 to 1995, a Consultant at Bain and Company from 1987 to 1989, and a Senior Equity Analyst of BA Investment Management Company from 1983 to 1985.  Cynthia has been a Trustee of various Eaton Vance funds since May 2014 and has served as a Member of the Investment Committee of several non-profit organizations.  Cynthia received an A.B. in Economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth University.
